Overview

Powder coating and industrial painting are widely used finishing processes across automotive, aerospace, furniture, and general manufacturing. These operations generate fine airborne particulates during powder application, overspray, sanding, and surface preparation. Powder paint dust is extremely fine, lightweight, and easily dispersed, while liquid coatings release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and fumes. Without proper control, these emissions can affect worker health, product quality, and facility compliance.

Challenges & Considerations

Fine, Airborne Powders: Overspray creates clouds of dust that can contaminate surfaces and reduce finish quality.

Combustible Dust Hazards: Powder paint particulates are highly combustible, requiring specialized safety measures.

VOC and Odor Emissions: Liquid paints and coatings release fumes that must be captured to protect workers and meet environmental standards.

Cross-Contamination Risks: Uncontrolled overspray can settle on nearby equipment or products, compromising finish integrity

MKHW Powder Paint Collector

Designed for use in the powder coatings industry, this system has a high-efficiency primary cyclonic separator which reduces the problem of colour contamination in the reusable material. The cyclone is connected to a secondary multi-tube after filter and an industrial exhauster. Various material reclamation options are available.

C Series Dust Collectors

N.R. Murphy Limited’s C Series dust collectors utilizes cartridge style filters, in both a manual clean, or continuous duty self-cleaning filtration. Available in portable, economical models or large outdoor units.

Nanofiber Cartridge

Our advanced nanofiber cartridge filters are rated for MERV 15, meaning it is capable of capturing up to 94% of dust particles sized from 0.3 to 1.0 microns. For reference the diameter of an average human hair follicle is 75 microns.
